According to information obtained by Gistlover, the incensed students from the School of Forestry in Ibadan, Oyo state stormed the EFCC Ibadan office on Tuesday to protest what they saw to be an invasion of their school by commission agents.

It was discovered that on Tuesday, a few agents allegedly broke into the building to have a quick chat with the administration before making some suspected arrests.

It was learned that some students were allegedly shot in a confrontation with the EFCC during the visit, even though the institution has not yet responded to the students’ allegations or released a statement.

In response to the allegations, the EFCC asserted that the students’ attack on agency personnel was unprovoked.

In a statement, the agency’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, asserted that its representatives showed restraint even after being provoked.

The EFCC spokesperson also refuted reports claiming that staff members or students had been shot.

He disclosed that the bus used to transport the operatives to the campus had been trashed, even as college students and personnel hurled stones and potentially harmful objects at the vehicle.

“The Commission wishes to assure the public that it will continue to perform its duties in line with its mandate, and unprovoked attacks against personnel of the Commission will no longer be tolerated.

“It is noteworthy that, operatives of the Commission exercised restraint in the face of the unprovoked attack and refrained from applying any force against the belligerent attackers. No student or staff of the college was shot, as armed operatives merely fired into the air to disperse the unruly crowd.

“A rescue team that came successfully released the seven operatives held hostage by the riotous crowd,” the statement said.
