Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has shared an emotional prayer in response to the disturbing events currently unfolding across the country.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, the actor reflected on the pain and fear many Nigerians are experiencing. He said that while preparing to sleep, his thoughts drifted to children hiding in forests, mothers struggling to protect their babies, parents desperately praying for safety, and schools living under constant fear.
Kunle also expressed concern over how life appears to continue as usual despite the growing insecurity, noting that political campaigns are still ongoing while bloggers continue posting content as though nothing serious is happening.
He ended his message with a touching prayer, asking that people never become so accustomed to tragedy that they lose their sense of compassion and humanity.
His words…
“As I settle in for the night, I can’t help but think. As you go to bed tonight, remember children are sleeping in the forests… imagine the cold, the bugs, the fear, the discomfort. Remember, a mother is holding her baby helplessly. Parents praying for safety. Schools living in fear
And somehow, in the middle of all this, election campaigns and preparations continue. Bloggers are posting about the election like everything is normal. May we never become so used to tragedy that we stop feeling it”.
