“Kwankwaso and I Want a Child of Nobody to Become Somebody” – Peter Obi

  • Peter Obi says he and Kwankwaso want to build a Nigeria where ordinary citizens can succeed without connections.
  • His statement sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters praising the message and critics dismissing it as political rhetoric.

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has sparked fresh conversations online after speaking about leadership, sacrifice, and national development alongside former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Speaking during a recent engagement, Obi said both he and Kwankwaso share a vision of creating a country where ordinary citizens can rise without political connections or godfathers.

“I and Kwankwaso want a child of nobody to become somebody without knowing anybody, but we must sacrifice and build a nation,” Obi said.

The statement quickly generated reactions online, with supporters praising the message while critics dismissed it as political rhetoric ahead of future elections.

Mixed reactions trail Obi’s statement
Some Nigerians said Obi’s “child of nobody” slogan continues to resonate emotionally with many citizens frustrated by Nigeria’s political structure.

“That ‘child of nobody becoming somebody’ line always touches people emotionally,” one social media user wrote.

Others, however, mocked the statement and questioned Obi’s political record.

“This man is the biggest clown Nigeria has ever produced,” another user reacted.

Another critic wrote: “When he was governor, so we didn’t have a nation then?”

Obi’s latest comment comes as political discussions ahead of the 2027 elections continue gaining momentum, with many Nigerians debating leadership, governance, and coalition talks among opposition figures.
