There is currently palpable tension in Benin City as the Edo State Government has finally carried out it’s threat in demolishing the residence of oppositional figures in the state.

Recall late last year the state government earmarked some hotels belonging to known oppositional members in the state for demolition because of their opposition to Obaseki.

The hotel of Tony Kabala which had court documents restraining the state government from the demolition was suddenly destroyed this morning.

Obaseki rolled in bulldozers and as we speak the building is been brought down.

Already residents of Ugbor area where the Hotel is located in Benin have taken to the streets in protest.
