 Shortly after the Ultimatum issued by Governor Obaseki about 163 fugitive convicts who escaped during a controversial prison break in Edo have been successfully recaptured

 Controller of correctional centers in the state made this disclosure, adding that 1, 818 inmates are still on the run

Babayo Maisanda also stated that 10 officers sustained injuries after being overpowered by the suspected hoodlums that raided the facility

Babayo Maisanda, controller of correctional centers in Edo, has announced that 163 inmates who escaped from prison following a recent jailbreak have been successfully recaptured.

Speaking on the incident which marred the peaceful End SARS protest in the state, Maisanda, however, stated that a total number of fleeing escapees still at large stands at 1, 818.

According to him, about 10 officers sustained various degrees of injuries during the destruction and are currently receiving treatments at various hospitals in Benin.

Maisanda reiterated that facilities of the correctional centers were destroyed as thugs laid siege for more than “six hours.”
