Edo State Jail Break: Obaseki Declares 24 Hour Curfew


The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has given the inmates who escaped from Benin Medium Security Correctional Centre, Sapele Road and the Oko Medium Security Correctional Centre, after a jail break three days to return else they will incur the wrath of the law.


Governor Obaseki stated that the 1,993 prison inmates who fled had been given up to October 23 to voluntarily return to the prison or face the wrath of the law.

He made this known during a tour assessing the facilities of the correctional centers accompanied by the Controller of Correction, Edo State Command, Babayo Maisanda on October 21.
