Social media commentator VeryDarkMan has reacted strongly to the viral audio controversy allegedly linked to him, criticizing presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga over comments made concerning the matter.
In a video shared online, Verydarkman revealed that he received several urgent phone calls while attending a business meeting after friends alerted him to a post made by Bayo Onanuga regarding the viral voice note.
Reacting to the controversy, the activist expressed disappointment with officials within the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arguing that more attention should be focused on insecurity and kidnappings across the country rather than online controversies.
Verydarkman specifically referenced reports of kidnappings involving teachers and schoolchildren in Oyo State, questioning why stronger reactions had not come from government officials regarding the incident.
According to him:
“The amount of calls I received while in a business meeting, I’ve never received it throughout this year. Immediately I picked the call, I could hear fear in my friend’s voice. He said I should go and check what the president’s spokesman just posted… immediately I read the post, I clicked and listened to the video. After listening to the audio..
“This is the reason I said president Tinubu should not come back in 2027 because all the people that operate under him, these people no dey use their bra!n.
“I know say Una don get me for mine and this is part of Una agenda. You see this audio I will not defend it. Shey Una say na me. And when I come back to Nigeria I must feel the weight of the law. You no dey sham£. See how you open your mouth, you spread. So now you can talk? Band!ts went into a school in Oyo state and took 3 teachers. Then pack students and one of the teacher was backing an infant child. There was a report that a few days later one of the teachers was b£g£@d£d Bayo Onanuga where is your comment on that?
“As I speak to you today, today is Children’s Day those kids are in an unknown location as we speak. We don’t know how they are fairing. We no know wetin dem dey chop. We no even know whether them still dey al!ve but you have never made a comment about that.
“But today, you don finally get voice. Not because you care about voice note but because this is an opportunity to silence Verydarkman….”
The activist further alleged that the public attention surrounding the viral audio was an attempt to target or silence him, insisting that insecurity and kidnappings should receive greater urgency from both the government and the public.
