- VeryDarkMan has criticised Pastor Enoch Adeboye for defending President Bola Tinubu over Nigeria’s insecurity, accusing the cleric of abandoning the stance he took under previous administrations.
- While VDM argued that leadership requires enforcing directives and holding subordinates accountable, supporters of Pastor Adeboye maintained that the cleric was simply explaining the constitutional responsibilities of the President.

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has criticised Pastor Enoch Adeboye over the cleric’s recent comments defending President Bola Tinubu’s handling of Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.
The reaction follows Pastor Adeboye’s remarks that President Tinubu had fulfilled his responsibility by issuing directives to security agencies and should not be expected to “put on khaki and fight” criminals himself.
Although the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) acknowledged that insecurity has worsened across the country, he revealed that he advised the President to give military chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to eliminate terrorism or resign.
Responding in a video shared on social media, VeryDarkMan questioned Adeboye’s position, recalling that the cleric had publicly criticised insecurity under previous administrations.
“Pastor Enoch Adeboye just wants to turn a blind eye because Tinubu is the President. Weren’t you the one in this video protesting years ago with a placard? This is just tribal bigotry,” he said.
The activist argued that leadership extends beyond giving directives, insisting that leaders must also ensure their instructions are properly implemented.
Using a family analogy, he explained that a father who assigns responsibilities to his children must hold them accountable if they fail to carry out those instructions.
“As a father, if you give your children instructions to do something and later find out they didn’t do it properly, you either correct them or remove them immediately,” he added.
