The ruling of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, according to Ondo State’s representative in the House of Representatives, Mr. Jimi Odimayo, reflects the overwhelming national support for President Bola Tinubu.

The five-member PEPT panel rejected the petitions of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi, the candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, respectively, and upheld Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election.

In the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Odimayo, who represents Ondo State’s Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, pleaded with the PDP and LP candidates to put the case behind them and work with Tinubu to rebuild Nigeria.

This was stated by the federal lawmaker in a statement he released via his media office and provided to our correspondent on Saturday.

He said, “I want to encourage the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, Abubakar Atiku and that of the Labour Party  Peter Obi to join hands with the president in the interest of the nation and to achieve the renewed hope agenda.

“This verdict from the court validates the mandate bestowed upon the President to deliver the Renewed Hope Agenda to the people of Nigeria, setting our country on the path of growth and prosperity.

“I must note that President Tinubu has wasted no time and has already taken bold measures to bolster the economy and empower our citizens

While congratulating the president, Odimayo said the victory in the PEPT was a well-deserved one.

Our democracy has been enriched and the right of Nigerians to freely elect leaders of their choice equally upheld as all issues were clinically examined and resolved in line with all relevant laws. The judgment is a triumph of truth”, the lawmaker stated.
