The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has written to President Muhammadu Buhari urging him to suspend the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020, stating that it is dangerous to the “wellbeing of the Nigerian-state”.

The letter, signed by the president of the association, Samson Ayokunle, was stated that the government did not involve critical stakeholders and “various interest groups”.

Reacting to reports making round different digital news platforms on his twitter page, Shehu told Nigerians to ignore the news platforms that according to him was spreading fake news.

6. Buhari Presides Over 14th Virtual FEC Meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over a virtual Federal Executive Council meeting at the Presidential villa in Abuja.

The meeting which started at about 10 am has in attendance, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha while some ministers are participating virtually from their offices.

11. PPMC Increases Fuel Price to N151.56 per Litre

The Pipeline and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) has announced an increase in the price of petrol from N143.80 per litre to N151.56 per litre.

Making this disclosure in a statement by D.O Abalaka of PPMC, the commission announced that the increase in the pump price of petrol is expected to take effect from Wednesday, September 2, 2020.
