1- 143 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Nigeria on 31st of august 2020

143 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria on Monday, August 31.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, Plateau state recorded 35 new cases, Kaduna-21, Lagos-19, FCT-13, Ebonyi-9, Adamawa-7, Enugu-7, Katsina-7, Edo-6, Kwara-5, Osun-3, Anambra-2, Kano-2, Niger-2, Ogun-2, Benue-1, Borno-1 and Sokoto-1

Nigeria now has 54,008 confirmed cases of the viral disease. 41,638 patients have been discharged while 1,013 deaths have been recorded.

2- COVID-19: Lagos Health Commissioner Recovers

The Lagos State Health Commissioner, Akin Abayomi, has recovered from COVID-19 after one week in treatment.

This was disclosed by the state Information Commissioner, Gbenga Omotosho, on Monday.

3- India’s Single Day Coronavirus Cases Sets World Record

India has reported the highest ever single-day coronavirus cases, with a total of 78,761 cases in the span of 24 hours, the previous record was held by the United States, recording 77,299 cases in July.

4- COVID-19: Lagos State University (LASU) Students to Resume In Batches – VC

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun has announced that students of the institution will be resuming in batches.

Making this announcement during a radio program on Eko FM on Monday, Fagbohun revealed that students of 400,500 and 600 level will be allowed to resume before others. Read more here.
