The news was disclosed by the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele during a special press briefing in Abuja, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Stating that the action was taken in order to take control of the currency in circulation, he also revealed that the old notes won’t be accepted as legal tender starting from January 31st 2023.
However, Sabinus took to his verified Instagram page as he shared a new sample of N1000 notes which has his photos and a Nigerian actor, Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw, on it.
