Social media commentator Verydarkman has alleged that he obtained information suggesting the Oyo State Government paid a ransom to secure the release of 39 schoolchildren and seven teachers who were abducted by armed kidnappers.
He claimed that, despite the purported payment, the abductors did not release the victims as expected.
Verydarkman also stated that the kidnapped schoolchildren and teachers have allegedly remained in captivity for about 49 days at the time of his comments.
