The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has emphasised that public service should be driven by integrity and a sense of duty, not personal financial gain.

Speaking at a recent event, the monarch highlighted the importance of leadership accountability while praising Alex Otti for what he described as exemplary governance in Abia State.

“Public service is an honor, not a place to make money. If you want money, go into business, not politics, because at the end of the day, you will only be remembered for what you did during your service. Alex Otti is an excellent example of what leadership should be about. I have known him for years; we worked together in the banking sector. He is building a lasting legacy in Abia State,” he said.

Sanusi’s remarks have sparked conversations around leadership values and governance standards in Nigeria, with many interpreting his statement as a call for transparency and accountability in public office.

In other news… Ghanaian media personality Afia Schwarzenegger has reacted strongly to the recent X3n0phobic tensions affecting African migrants in South Africa, issuing a warning in defence of Ghanaian citizens.

In a statement shared online, she emphasized that Ghana should not be compared to Nigeria in terms of response to such incidents, stressing that Ghanaians would not remain silent if their citizens are targeted abroad.

Her words…

“Ghana is not like Nigeria and we won’t hesitate to return the stupid favour.”

According to her, any form of hostility or attacks against Ghanaians living in South Africa would not be taken lightly, adding that there would be consequences if such situations persist.
