Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has sparked reactions online after urging Nigerians to pray for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during a recent appearance, Umahi stated that President Tinubu means well for Nigerians and deserves prayers and support.
According to him:
“We need to pray for the president, we need to pray for his reelection because Tinubu means well for Nigerians”
His statement quickly triggered criticism and debate across social media, with many Nigerians questioning the government’s performance on insecurity, economy, and living conditions.
Reacting to the minister’s comment, Dr Ken🩺🚑🚒⚕️ wrote:
“Nah prayer go solve insecurity ,
Abi the prayer will bring back the beheaded teacher
For 3 years nothing changed positively and you said we should reinforce failure”
