A businessman has collapsed and died on stage at an award ceremony in India. A charismatic award winner danced out of the audience and onto the stage to collect his prize – before dropping down dead seconds later. The shocking footage emerged the moment a man dropped dead on stage at an awards ceremony.

Vishnu Pandey, 53, was collecting an award as part of a travel agents prize giving in Agra, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, when tragedy struck.

Vishnu Pandey had a heart attack on stage as he was collecting an award at a bash for travel agents. The 53-year-old was filmed wiggling and jiggling to the Bollywood music tune as he made his way up to the stage – as he was cheered on by the audience Metro Uk reported.

As Pandey’s name is called, he can be seen running up to the stage jigging to a Bollywood song amid cheers from the audience.

Wearing a grey shirt and trousers, he continues to dance around the stage at the event at the Marriott Hotel in Agra, a city made famous for being the home to the Taj Mahal in India.

But within a matter of seconds, the businessman from Mumbai loses his balance and collapses on to the stage, leaving everyone stunned.

Audience members quickly rushed to his aid and he was taken to the hospital, but he was later declared dead.

Police inspector Shailendra Singh said that Mr Pandey had died from a cardiac arrest.

But despite the best efforts of medics, Pandey was tragically declared dead. The doctors said he had died from a cardiac arrest.

One of the organisers of the event, who wished not to named, told how everyone at the ceremony was left horrified by the incident, he said:

“Everyone present during the function was left shell shocked that we lost such a charismatic and entertaining person within a matter of some seconds.”
