“Oluremi Tinubu Will Not Be Removed As RCCG Ordained Minister”- Pastor Adeboye

  • Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer of RCCG, has rejected calls for the removal of Senator Oluremi Tinubu as an ordained minister.
  • His comments were made during the monthly Holy Ghost Service at Redemption Camp.
  • The discussion addressed the public debate regarding her dual role as a religious leader and a political figure.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has dismissed calls for the removal of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, from her position as an ordained minister of the church.

He made the comment during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service held at the Redemption Camp, where he addressed the ongoing public debate surrounding her religious role alongside her political status.

Adeboye stated that the church would not give in to external pressure demanding her removal, stressing that RCCG operates strictly under its internal spiritual rules and not based on public opinion or political influence.

He explained that Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an assistant pastor more than a decade ago, long before her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, began his presidential ambition. According to him, her ordination process was not influenced by politics.

The RCCG leader added that she completed all required steps for ordination and has remained in full compliance with church doctrines since becoming a minister.

Quoting his remarks, Adeboye said:

“Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an assistant pastor over 10 years ago, followed all the church processes of ordination, and hasn’t violated the chruch’s guidelines so RCCG won’t remove her despite external pressure. The church isn’t APC.”

He further clarified that holding a political office such as First Lady does not disqualify her from serving in the church, noting that she met all spiritual requirements before her elevation.
