Adeleke Issues Stern Warning to Osun IPMAN Over PMS Hoarding

According to a statement from the office of the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, there won’t be an Independence Day celebration in Osun State on October 1, 2023.

Due to the unprecedented hardship experienced nationwide thus far this year, the governor made the decision to postpone the Independence Day celebration.

Adeleke, a politician who was elected in 2022 under the banner of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emphasized that the state’s citizens should observe Independence Day by praying and meditating.

Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for Governor Adeleke, issued a statement on Friday in which the former senator urged residents of the state to pray for the country’s continued peace and prosperity.

Let’s take advantage of Independence Day to reflect and pray about the state of our country. Hard times are being experienced by our people, the governor was cited as saying.

It is time to reflect and ask for divine intervention and direction in the affairs of our country. As Nigerian Independence Day approaches, I extend greetings to everyone in Osun and throughout Nigeria.

We will celebrate with prayer and meditation here in Osun.

The governor of Osun State hasn’t canceled the Independence Day festivities before since 1999, when democracy was restored in the country.

The nationwide declaration of a public holiday on October 2 is anticipated to go into effect in the state despite the cancellation of the celebration in Osun.
