No Death Recorded in tanker explosion -Fire service reports

The tanker explosion in the Ijora area of Lagos State, according to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, did not result in any casualties.

The service’s general manager, Margaret Adeseye, who confirmed this in a statement issued in Lagos, claimed the fire had been put out.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, on Thursday night, a tanker exploded on the bridge that connects Lagos’ Ijora, Orile, and Costain neighborhoods.

The raging fire has been contained as pockets of fire continue to be dampened, allowing for an investigation to identify the cause and the evacuation of the carcass to restore normalcy.

She stated that the incident involved 11 vehicles, including two tankers, one tipper truck, three trailers, three cars, and two micro-mini buses.

According to NAN, “Mr. Ibrahim Falinloye, the Southwest Coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency, 13 vehicles, including two buses, two cars, a trailer carrying detergents and sardines, one sport utility vehicle (SUV), three flat body trailers, two 20-foot containers, and two PMS tankers, were destroyed by the tanker’s fire.

LASEMA is removing the burned-out vehicle’s carcasses.
