“My Life Is At Risk” – MC Okrika Claims 15 Police Officers Stormed His Home After Viral Allegation

  • Comedian and activist MC Okrika has alleged that his life is under threat after posting a viral video of a police officer in Cross River State allegedly holding suspected weed.
  • The comedian also claimed police officers stormed his residence during a late-night search operation, sparking widespread reactions online.

Popular comedian and activist MC Okrika has raised fresh concerns over his safety after alleging that he received threats following a viral video he shared involving police officers in Cross River State.

The controversy began after the comedian posted footage showing a police officer allegedly holding what appeared to be suspected weed during an encounter in Ikom, Cross River State.

In a fresh statement shared online, MC Okrika claimed his life was now at risk because of the video.

According to him:

“My life is at risk. The only ‘crime’ I committed yesterday was posting a video of a police officer in Cross River state allegedly holding weed and sharing it on social media. Since then, I have received several threats. If anything happens to me, Nigerians should know who to hold responsible.”

He further questioned why exposing wrongdoing often attracts intimidation.

“How do we expect the country to get better when exposing evil makes evil come after you?”

The comedian later alleged that police officers stormed his residence during a late-night operation.

He said:

“Just this morning, my wife called me to inform me that about 15 Nigerian police officers came to my house last night and searched the entire house.”

MC Okrika also revealed that the Police Public Relations Officer in Cross River State had reportedly issued a statement concerning the matter. He further alleged that the same officer seen in the viral clip was among those involved in the alleged harassment and extortion of a young man who reportedly lost ₦150,000.

According to him, the officers involved were not wearing proper police uniforms or name tags, while he also accused the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of appearing without uniform during the incident.

The development has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the allegations.

Reacting to the incident, @GREGORYONYEKA called on the Inspector-General of Police to intervene.

“Oga sir, are you not seeing this? The first video showed a police officer on duty with hard drugs, no name tags. Una don start ooo.”

Another user, @ChijiokeBr24, questioned the priorities of security agencies.

“So they know how to track him down to his house but kidnappers, bandits and terrorists roam free on TikTok?”

Some users also defended MC Okrika and warned against attempts to intimidate him.

@amudaDewale wrote:

“They’re trying to incriminate you. The only way out of this is if the IGP invites the DPO and that squad to Abuja and sanctions them.”

Others, however, criticized the comedian for allegedly expecting his wife to resist armed officers during the search operation.

@iykeinfos commented:

“How can you be disappointed at your wife, a woman, what did you expect her to do to armed policemen at night in your house?”
