The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has affirmed that the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, is still  on the one-year mandatory youth service scheme.

This was said by NYSC in response to the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) asserting that Musawa is both a serving corp member and a minister.

The culture minister, according to HURIWA, has been absent from work for a while. His primary place of employment is a law firm in Abuja.

In an interview with TheCable on Thursday, the NYSC spokesman, Eddy Megwa, confirmed that the minister is a current corps member.

Megwa replied in a message, “Yes, she is a serving corp member.

Remember that Musawa and 44 other ministers were sworn in as FEC members on Monday by President Bola Tinubu.
