Just In: Minister of Water Contracts COVID-19.

Engr. Adamu Suleiman, the Minister for Water Resources has disclosed that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease but is currently receiving treatment.

The Minister made the disclosure on Tuesday when he spoke virtually via zoom at the flag-off of the National Youth Volunteer Programmed on Clean up Nigeria campaign.

Suleiman who urged Nigerians against treating the issue of the virus nonchalantly warned that nobody is immune to the virus.

He added that all prescribed health protocols recommended by experts must be followed to ensure the safety of all Nigerians from the pandemic.

The statement read, “The issue of COVID-19 is a very serious and critical issue and our people must not take it lightly. The volunteers should pass this message. We as Ministers are not immune to the pandemic.

“The reason why I am not with you physically today is because I am still recovering from treatment on account of COVID-19 infection. We thank God that I am doing very well. It is a living testimony to all others that nobody is immune.

“The high and mighty; the high and low; the big and the small, everybody is vulnerable. We should work hard to ensure that we present this disease in our communities. Keep all the protocols and when the time comes to take the vaccine, please do not hesitate to do so.”
