Media personality Tunde Perry has sparked discussions online after opening up about an unusual arrangement he shares with his wife, which he says has contributed positively to their long-term marriage.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session with a female guest, Perry revealed that his wife allows him to spend one day each month outside the home without being questioned about his whereabouts.
According to him, the understanding has been in place throughout their nearly 10-year marriage and is rooted in trust and mutual respect.
He explained that he chooses the specific day at the start of every month, and once it is agreed upon, his wife does not call or check on him while he is out.
Describing the arrangement, Perry said: “My wife gives me one free day in a month to go out and chill. We’ve been married for about 10 years, so we understand ourselves. I choose the date from the beginning of the month.”
He added that when he returns home, he is expected to make up for his time away by helping with household chores, joking that his wife often takes his phones before assigning him tasks around the house.
According to him, such understanding is key to sustaining a peaceful relationship, adding, “You must have that kind of understanding so you can enjoy your relationship. It’s not good to have two or three wives.”
When the host jokingly suggested that his monthly outing could lead to another relationship, Perry laughed off the comment, replying, “How will I go out next month to enjoy again?”
