- Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed confidence that Igbo communities in the state will vote for the APC rather than individual candidates in future elections.
- His remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating party loyalty, voter independence, and the political influence of ethnic communities.

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has stirred reactions after expressing confidence that Igbo communities in the state will support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.
Speaking on political developments in the state, Oborevwori said the voting pattern of Igbo communities in Delta has changed since the 2023 elections. According to him, the communities are now aligned with his political direction and are expected to vote for the APC rather than individual candidates.
“The Igbo communities in Delta that did not vote for the APC’s candidate in 2023 did not repeat that voting pattern during my election. We are on the same page. This time I have told them not to vote on an individual basis but to vote for the party. I am confident they will vote for the APC,” he said.
The governor’s remarks quickly generated reactions online, with many Nigerians questioning his confidence and debating whether voters should support political parties or individual candidates.
