Nigerian businessman and socialite, Mike Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, has revealed the inspiration behind his controversial and attention-grabbing appearances at social gatherings and celebrity events.

Known for arriving at parties with dancers, themed outfits, and unusual displays, the nightlife personality said his actions are purely for entertainment and artistic expression.

Speaking during an interview with Echo Room, Pretty Mike explained that he understands his public stunts often spark mixed reactions, but he deliberately chooses to stand out and create memorable moments.

According to him, some of his appearances are praised by social media users, while others receive criticism. However, he noted that he has built a strong mentality over time and no longer allows negative comments or online backlash to affect him personally.

The socialite added that he constantly reminds himself that public attention is temporary, as people usually move on to the next trending topic after a short while.

Pretty Mike maintained that his displays are part of performance art and should not always be viewed from a negative perspective.

His words…

“I see it as part of the business. Before I do anything, I already know it can go either way, so I prepare myself mentally. Over the years, I have developed a thick skin. Some stunts go viral positively, some attract criticism, but I never let it affect me psychologically.

“I always tell myself that after a few days, the noise will fade. Honestly, some of them feel divine. I do not have a creative team sitting down to plan these things. Sometimes I just wake up with an idea. As for the criticism, I understand it. But I also see stunts as entertainment and performance art.

“There is really no limit to what I can spend on a stunt because, to me, it is part of having fun and creating an experience. Some people spend money travelling or partying. I channel mine into creative expressions.”
