Former Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has revealed what happened to her eye-catching “bread outfit” after it sparked massive reactions on the red carpet of the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) held in Lagos.
Atang, alongside actress Osas Ighodaro, was among the celebrities whose fashion choices dominated conversations on social media during the star-studded event.
The reality star explained that her unique bread-inspired outfit was intentional, saying it symbolized her journey as a businesswoman in the food industry. She noted on Instagram that the look was tied to her entrepreneurial brand.
“AMVCA 2026 ready. I come as an entrepreneur who runs a bread EMPIRE,” she wrote, also referencing her bakery brand, @switcakes_desserts.
In a follow-up post on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Queen revealed that her outfit actually served a purpose beyond fashion. She claimed that many of the journalists who interviewed her at the event got to taste her bread, adding that she also arrived with a meal of cooked beans, popularly known as ‘ewa agoyin.’
“Do you know that every interviewer who interviewed me got a taste of my bread? Do you know I even carried ewa agoyin with me to the red carpet?” she wrote in a caption of a video showing an interviewer eating her bread.
