Here Are 3 Reasons Apple Music Hired DJCuppy

Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, professionally known as Cuppy, is a Nigerian disc jockey and producer. She is the daughter of Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola.

Cuppy has been picked as its host. Here are three reasons why DJ Cuppy has been taking by the tech business magnate Apple, in its first radio show (Apple music) in Africa which is to air on Sunday.

1. Exposure

Relativity is one of the fundamental requirements of a professional. Speaking, listening, communication, and proficiency in broadcasting tools and technology are some of the key personal skills required by a DJ. DJ Cuppy has great exposure to multiple cultures as a teenager. Well, we do know that DJ Cuppy whose real names are Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola has spent and lived most of her youthful life in London. She grew up in Lagos and moved to London at the age of 13. In the first 6 years of her life, Cuppy lived in Ilupeju; Before moving to Ikeja where she attended Grange School, Lagos.

She then relocated to London for her GCSEs and A-Levels. And she graduated in 2014, from King’s College London, with a degree in business and economics. And later earned her master’s diploma (HND) in music commercial enterprise from New York University in 2015.

2. Certification

I know that there are many out there who will not support this reason of certification, because of the hash society we all have been exposed to. However, the white man takes certification seriously. DJ Cuppy has a master diploma in music commercial and this makes her the perfect candidate for the job. Also, Apple tech company is multiple billion-dollar companies which has striven in the tech business industry through its marketing strategies, bringing in DJ Cuppy who is not just a disc jockey and music producer, but a professional in music commercials is a sure boost to the tech company’s business strongholds in Africa.

3. Experience

No matter the degree or qualification a professional might have, experience on the job is not negotiable. And DJs do more in this regard; On-the-job training is generally required; college radio experience is common too. For example, in 2014 Cuppy was the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban. She then played at the Tatler and Christie’s Art Ball in London, and at the Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico City.
