The widow of late Oyo teacher, Mr Michael Oyedokun, has emotionally appealed to the government and security agencies to help recover her husband’s remains following the deadly school attack in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The tragic incident occurred during coordinated attacks on several schools in the area, including Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele, L.A. Primary School, Esiele, and Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota.
Reports revealed that dozens of pupils and teachers were abducted during the attacks, while some victims reportedly lost their lives in the process.
Public anger intensified after a disturbing video allegedly showing the killing of Mr Oyedokun surfaced online and quickly went viral across social media platforms.
In a heartbreaking video now making rounds online, Mrs Mary Oyedokun pleaded with authorities to help bring back her husband’s body so he could receive a proper burial.
Speaking emotionally, she said:
“Please, I am begging the government and security agencies to help me recover my husband’s remains. I want to bury him properly, so he can have a burial site for future reference.”
The grieving widow’s appeal has triggered emotional reactions online, with many Nigerians lamenting the worsening insecurity affecting schools and communities in different parts of the country.
Several social media users also called on the government to intensify rescue operations and ensure justice for victims of the attack.
