Senator Godswill Akpabio has been elected as the 10th Senate President.

Akpabio was elected on the Senate floor shortly after its inauguration.

He defeated his opponent, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, both members of the All-Progressives Congress.

Akpabio elected President of 10th Nigerian Senate.
