Big Brother Naija Level Up winner Phyna has raised concerns after the recent developments surrounding her colleague, Ilebaye’s family situation.
Earlier, Ilebaye, a fellow Level Up housemate from Big Brother Naija, reportedly went live on Instagram in distress, alleging that she had been physically assaulted. In the emotional video, she called on Nigerians for help as she appeared visibly injured, with reports stating her face was badly swollen.
The incident was said to have occurred at her father’s residence in Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja, in the early hours of May 9. The situation quickly escalated after the video went viral, prompting intervention from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.
According to police spokesperson Josephine Adeh, officers received a report around midnight and responded immediately. A team from the Wuye Division, alongside operatives from the FCT Command’s Department of Operations, visited the scene. However, they initially faced difficulty gaining access as the gate was locked and dogs were allegedly released to prevent entry. Police eventually gained access around 2:30 a.m., where they reportedly found Ilebaye with visible injuries. She and her brothers were taken to NNPC Hospital in Abuja for medical treatment.
Following the intervention, reports confirmed that her father, Emmanuel Odiniya, was arrested in connection with the incident.
However, in a new update shared via her X (formerly Twitter) account, Phyna expressed concern over the handling of the case. She revealed that Ilebaye’s father had been released and that two of her younger brothers had been returned to him. She questioned the authorities’ actions, suggesting that no proper investigation was carried out before his release.

“Baye’s dad just got released and the 2 younger brothers given back to him…. Please, what kind of style is this one, no investigation, no proper investigation, you left him to go home. Nigerian police”.
