Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, is in court as the Appeal Court prepares to rule on the Nasarawa State governorship dispute between David Ombugadu of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and incumbent Governor Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress. Labaran Maku, a former minister of information, Mike Omeri, a former director general of the National Orientation Agency, and Umaru Al-Makura, a former governor of Nasarawa State, are also in court.

The panel had dismissed Sule and proclaimed Ombugadu of the PDP the victor of the state’s 2023 governorship contest.

Sule, dissatisfied with the ruling, filed an appeal in an attempt to overturn the tribunal’s decision and uphold his election.

The case is scheduled for judgment at 9 in the morning.

In the meantime, our correspondent noticed that there were a lot of security guards at the court’s entrance.

Access to the court premises was denied to litigants, journalists, and attorneys who were not granted accreditation by the court.
