Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has sparked fresh debate online after questioning the effectiveness of Nigeria’s security spending amid persistent insecurity across the country.
Speaking during a recent outing, the activist expressed concern over the annual budgetary allocation to the Nigerian Air Force, wondering why insecurity continues to persist despite the huge sums reportedly committed to the sector.
“The Air Force received over ₦400 billion every year, why is there still insecurity in Nigeria?” he asked.
His remarks quickly gained attention across social media platforms, with Nigerians divided over his comments. While some praised him for raising questions about accountability and security spending, others accused him of seeking attention and oversimplifying the country’s security challenges.
