Governor Alex Otti Reaches Out to Alex Ekubo’s Family, Pledges Support Ahead of Burial

  • According to her, the governor also pledged financial assistance, security support, and repairs to the road leading to Arochukwu ahead of the late actor’s burial.

Fresh details have emerged about the support being provided to the family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo following his passing, with Abia State Governor Alex Otti reportedly taking immediate steps to assist the family.

Speaking at the actor’s service of songs, Pastor Eno Jerry revealed that Governor Otti was deeply shocked and saddened when news of Alex Ekubo’s death reached him and immediately reached out to members of the family.

According to her, one of the governor’s first actions was to personally call the actor’s wife and also speak with his mother to offer condolences and support during the difficult period.

“When the news got to His Excellency’s attention, it met him with a lot of shock and sadness. As soon as he heard about Alex, he swung into action.

“One of the first things he did was call the wife. He called Alex Ekubo’s wife and also spoke to his mother,” Pastor Eno Jerry said.

She noted that the late actor remained deeply proud of his roots and consistently celebrated his culture and hometown.

“Alex Ekubo was one man who was very proud of his state and his culture. If you go to his Instagram page, you’ll see that the last post he made was about his culture.

“He actually said, ‘I love my culture,’ and did a dance about his hometown, Arochukwu, and put that out there. That is the last thing I think is on his Instagram page.

“That shows you how proud he was of his state. And as people of Abia State, we are very proud of Alex and proud of his achievements on earth.”

Pastor Eno Jerry further disclosed that Governor Otti pledged to assist the family by ensuring that the road leading to Arochukwu, the actor’s hometown, is made motorable before his burial.

She also revealed that the governor promised financial support and adequate security for family members, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers expected to attend the burial ceremony.

“Another thing His Excellency did, apart from speaking to the family, was to make a pledge to help them fix the road that leads to Alex’s hometown, at least make it motorable even before the burial.

“He also pledged financial support and security for all those who will be coming for the burial in Arochukwu. And right now, he is still willing to do even much more as the need arises.”
