Celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has opened up about the reason behind his public fallout with Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy.

The feud between the two entertainers made headlines months ago after they exchanged words on social media, sparking heated reactions from fans online.

Speaking during a recent interview on Beat FM, Cubana Chiefpriest revealed that the misunderstanding allegedly began because Burna Boy was uncomfortable with his close friendship with Afrobeats star Davido.

According to the businessman, he had been focused on his personal affairs before Burna Boy started throwing subtle shots and making posts about him online. He claimed the singer’s comments were aimed at discrediting the business ventures that built his success.

Chiefpriest explained that he felt Burna Boy was trying to damage something that had positively impacted his life and career, despite the fact that he had previously attempted to work with the singer.

“I was like, you are trying to bring down something that helped you,” he said during the interview.

He further suggested that Burna Boy may have expected them to maintain a closer relationship, but after reflecting on things, he realized Davido had always shown him more genuine support.

The celebrity barman praised Davido for consistently standing by him over the years, noting that the singer attended several important milestones in his life, including business launches and his house opening ceremony.

Cubana Chiefpriest also alleged that Burna Boy had shown interest in some of the business spaces he operates in. He pointed out that the singer has now moved into the nightclub scene, which he believes may have contributed to the tension between them.

According to him, Burna Boy may have wanted to prove that he could equally thrive in those ventures, just as Chiefpriest made efforts to explore the music industry.

In his words:

“He felt I was supposed to be with him, but Davido has always been there for me. He opened all my outlets and my house. He comes through. I felt so bad about the whole thing. He, too, has invested in the nightlife business, and he is now trying to do what CP is doing.”
