The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has released details of his burial programme, with final funeral rites set to conclude on June 18, 2026.
According to reports, the actor passed away on May 11 after a battle with kidney cancer.
In a statement shared on his official Instagram page on Monday, the family expressed gratitude for the support they have received and called on the public to continue keeping the late actor, his wife, and loved ones in their prayers during this painful period.
The funeral schedule indicates that a service of songs will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos. The ceremony is expected to run from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with guests advised to dress in white.
A wake keep is also planned for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu in Abia State.
The burial ceremony and interment will follow on Thursday, June 18, 2026. The funeral service will be held at Mary Slessor School, after which the actor will be laid to rest at his family compound located at the same Arochukwu address.
A reception will immediately follow the interment at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, with attendees also expected to appear in white attire.
