Nigerian singer Mr Real has stirred conversations online after raising concerns about the safety and privacy of WhatsApp users.
In a viral statement shared online, the singer alleged that people whose numbers were not saved on a user’s phone could now view their WhatsApp status updates and even know their location.
According to him, the development points to serious security concerns on the messaging platform.
“Whatsapp is not safe, Contacts and numbers that you didn’t save on your phone can now view your status and know your location there is serious insecurity going on right now on whatsapp,” he said.
His comments quickly sparked reactions on social media, with many users sharing their experiences while others corrected his claims.
