Social media personality VeryDarkMan has revealed plans to boost the monthly financial support he gives to Nigerians who are learning vocational skills, saying the move is part of his ongoing effort to promote self-reliance among young people.

He explained that he already provides monthly funds to help individuals build financial independence, but decided to increase the amount following his reaction to recent comments he linked to the President’s wife about small-scale businesses and youth opportunities.

Speaking on the initiative, he said:

“I dey give money to people every month so that people will empower themselves but did you hear what the president’s wife said? That people should go and fry akara, fry corn and sell kuli kuli for 2026. These people don’t have any good plans for the youth. At least now you people will value me.”

He further added that the support scheme will now be increased:

“So now I go carry the money up go N1.5m for 6 people to learn handwork every month end. You’ll tell me the work you want to do and they go share the money to una. Abeg make una learn handwork o. The good plan government have for you na akara and kuli kuli.”

The video has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many users praising the increased financial commitment toward vocational training.

However, others focused more on his criticism of government policies on youth empowerment, triggering broader conversations about job creation, skills development, and entrepreneurship opportunities in the country.
