A medical doctor recently shared her bewilderment on social media after a man who seemed genuinely interested in her suddenly disappeared without a word, sparking conversations about modern dating and the phenomenon of ghosting.
According to the doctor, the man traveled five hours from another country to England for their first date. She explained that he covered all expenses and that they immediately connected over shared backgrounds, hobbies, interests, and travel aspirations.
“He was already talking about how I would get along with his mum and how excited he was to meet mine,” she recalled, describing the encounter as both meaningful and promising. The two reportedly planned a follow-up date soon after.
For the second meeting, the man again made the five-hour trip. The doctor offered to visit him in his country, but he preferred to come to her. “He paid for everything again and even brought me gifts,” she added.
She emphasized that their time together remained entirely non-intimate. “We literally didn’t do anything; we just shared a kiss in the car park,” she said, noting that the dates were smooth, with no disagreements or awkward moments.
However, after the second date, the man vanished completely. “I haven’t heard from him since. I’ve been ghosted,” she said. “I’ve never been this confused in my life.”
Her story has sparked varied reactions online, with some expressing sympathy and others speculating that he may have simply changed his mind. The incident has once again highlighted issues around emotional investment, mixed signals, and responsibility in dating.
