Popular Nigerian activist, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has opened up about his controversial online feud with influencer King Mitchy, claiming that divine intervention prevented what could have ended in his imprisonment.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on March 3rd, 2026, VDM detailed the events that sparked their clash. He alleged that Seyi Tinubu was allegedly using King Mitchy as a tool to undermine him, framing her actions as part of a wider effort to silence him as he continued to criticise the current administration ahead of the 2027 elections.
VDM recalled that King Mitchy, renowned for her charitable work, had previously claimed to renovate a school in just six days before turning her attention toward him online without any apparent provocation. He explained that while he understood her motives, he refrained from directly attacking her and instead focused his criticism on Seyi Tinubu, whom he accused of supporting the influencer.
He further claimed that the online attacks were designed to create a narrative that could lead to his arrest and “cancellation.” According to VDM, during the height of the controversy, King Mitchy was allegedly seen drinking a bottle of hypo at midnight. Her management later released a video on Instagram stating that she had died, reportedly as a result of the online harassment linked to the feud.
VDM insisted that what ultimately saved him was his own online presence at the same time. He posted a video pretending to drink hypo at midnight, suggesting that had he been offline, he might have been arrested the next morning and falsely accused of causing her death.
To back up his claims, he shared screenshots of posts from figures like Samklef, Gossip Mill, Bashir Ahmad, and other X users, who allegedly pointed fingers at him over King Mitchy’s reported passing.
He added that if he had not released his video, the situation could have escalated, with narratives emerging that Mitchy had been hospitalised, placed in a coma, or flown abroad for treatment, while he remained in custody.
VDM also said the tension escalated when King Mitchy allegedly took sniper, which prompted him to stage his own dramatic response, including a mock burial where he placed himself inside a coffin. He claimed these extreme actions ultimately prevented what he described as a calculated attempt to frame him, noting that the entire episode was a major case of clout chasing surpassing even King Mitchy’s antics.
VeryDarkMan accompanied the video with the caption, “The whole thing that happened between michyy and myself was meant to send me to pr!zon and cancel me,it was a well orchestrated plot,and they used the right person to do it,bloggers and narratives pushers was already in on it,TWO THINGS SAVED ME……..”
