Following a tanker explosion at a filling station in the Rigasa region of Igabi Local Government region in Kaduna State on Wednesday, at least twenty people were injured.

Several people were injured in the incident, including bystanders, members from the Kaduna State Vigilante Service, and five firefighters.

Mr. Paul Aboi, the State Director of Fire Service, stated on Thursday that the fire service members are presently undergoing treatment at the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, located in Kaduna.

He clarified that on Wednesday, the incident occurred while the tanker was unloading gasoline.

He stated that the gasoline dumping shouldn’t have been done in the afternoon and attributed the occurrence on filing station incompetence.

He cautioned petrol owners against endangering their lives by offloading the commodity at the appropriate time (evening).
