On Thursday, the Assembly’s plenary meeting in Gusau screened and approved the nominees.

Prior to that, the motion on the governor’s request for the screening and confirmation of the nominees was moved by the majority leader of the House, Mallam Bello Mazawaje (APC – Tsafe East).

Mallam Aliyu Ango of the APC in Talata-Mafara South, who serves as the minority leader, seconded the motion.

Mazawaje pleaded with his colleagues to support him and agree to waive House Order XV Rule 6 of its standing rules so that the nominees could be admitted into the chamber for the screening.

Following the screening, the lawmakers unanimously approved the 18 candidates to be commissioners and State Executive Council members.
