Benjamin Hundeyin stated that Nigerians can’t take what they dish, revealing that the reality star was breaking a traffic law, which is why she was filmed as evidence.

The Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has responded to Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ winner, Phyna, over a video showing her shouting out a police officer for filming her.

Over the weekend, Phyna got into a furious argument with a police officer for recording her, prompting her to broadcast live on social media.

The cop had stopped woman on the interstate for a stop and search, which turned into a verbal altercation after he recorded her.

The officer stated that taking images and recordings of persons they are tracking is legal. This irritated Phyna, who claimed she had never heard of such a law before.

Taking things a step further, Phyna lambasted individuals asking the police to take action against her, questioning why there is so much hatred for her.

SP Benjamin responded by saying that while Nigerians are never unhappy when they record police officers, they find it difficult and consider it harassment when a police officer does the same to them.

Noticing the irony, he stated that Nigerians can’t take what they dish, revealing that the reality star was breaking a traffic law, which is why she was filmed as evidence.

“If you were in my shoes, somebody carries phone on your face, you’ll get angry. You’ll get angry! – a Nigerian 🙄

You guys can’t even take what you dish out. A police officer uses his phone to record you, not randomly, but while you’re breaking a traffic rule and you’re all worked up about it, asking which law empowers him to rightfully get evidence. You’re unusual.

But law does not matter when you record police officers in the line of duty, sometimes just to agitate them and quickly scream harassment.”
