The presidency has also reacted to the viral video of Governor Ganduje of Kano State, allegedly receiving bribe from contractors in the state.

The video got the attention of most Nigerians, and they’ve described the development as a “shame to the Buhari led administration,who claim to be fighting corruption.’ However reacting to the video on behalf of the Presidency, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Diaspora & Foreign Affairs, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the video was suspicious.

She wrote on Twitter;

“No audio?? Suspicious.”

Dabiri-Erewa who also replied a follower who asked if CCTV had audio? Added”You are obviously ignorant. The report said the person who recorded hid the camera in his cloth, in this political season, don’t get carried away with anything and everything. Think.”

Governor Ganduje reportedly receives from 15 to 25% kickbacks for every project executed in the state, and according to some contractors, the sting operation to capture the governor on camera began two years ago when one of the contractors agreed with DAILY NIGERIAN request to plant spy camera on his kaftan lapel while offering the bribe.

However after 10 months efforts to capture the bribe giving/taking scenes, the governor’s face and body were clearly captured in nine clips, while six others did not clearly reveal the governor’s face. One of the contractors who pleaded anonymity, stated that he collaborated with the news platform to expose corruption and bring sanity to the country. It was gathered that about $5m dollars were delivered to the governor during the sting operation.
