Nigerian Afrobeats icon Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, delivered an electrifying performance at the recently concluded Hollywood Bowl concert in Los Angeles.

Following the debut of his documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, the Grammy-winning artist made a powerful return to the stage, captivating fans at a sold-out show. The concert featured a blend of his greatest hits alongside tracks from his latest album, Morayo.

Adding a rich layer to the night’s experience, parts of Wizkid’s set were accompanied by a live orchestra, elevating the atmosphere and showcasing his musical range.

A standout moment from the evening, now trending online, featured Wizkid performing a rendition of Kevin Lyttle’s early-2000s hit, “Turn Me On.” Dressed in a stylish ensemble of leather pants and an unzipped bomber jacket, Wizkid energized the crowd with waist-whining dance moves that set fans into a frenzy.

The unexpected cover thrilled concertgoers, who cheered loudly throughout the surprise segment.

“Turn Me On,” originally released in 2002 by Vincentian artist Kevin Lyttle, became a global sensation with its blend of soca and dancehall influences. It topped charts in Denmark and secured top ten spots in over 16 countries. The track also earned a place on Billboard’s list of “12 Best Dancehall & Reggaeton Choruses of the 21st Century.”

Wizkid’s performance of the classic hit further underscored his flair for blending cultures and eras through music, leaving a lasting impression on the Hollywood Bowl audience.
