A Nigerian lady has stirred online conversations after calling out individuals who frequently criticize the popular Hallelujah Challenge organized by gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey.

In a passionate video shared on TikTok, she directed four powerful questions at those who mock the midnight worship and prayer session.

The Hallelujah Challenge is a virtual Christian praise and worship event hosted by Nathaniel Bassey. Held at midnight, it draws thousands of believers from around the world who come together online to pray, sing, and share testimonies.

While the program has evolved into a major spiritual movement over the years, it has also attracted criticism from some skeptics who question its significance and results.

Through her TikTok handle, @tobinaomi, the lady rebuked those who belittle the participants, asking why anyone would ridicule people seeking God’s help during challenging times.

In her words:

“Not only are you seeing it or choosing to join or see what’s happening, you’re then taking it one step further and beating down on people that are choosing to look to God to solve their problems. What good does that do for y’all?”

She went on to add:

“Worst case scenario, what they’re doing does not do anything. Worst case scenario, praising God does not benefit anything. Is it bad? I need you guys to answer. Send this to whoever you know in your life is a hater on Hallelujah Challenge or whoever else is just trying to do something for God.

“What bad can someone accomplish from praising God? Do you think you furthered the kingdom of heaven by spewing hate on the internet on something that a man of God is doing to give people hope and to bring glory to God’s name and help us focus on him so that he becomes magnified over the problems of our lives?”

a holy rant and a heartfelt prayer. (see Matthew 12:25: “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, ‘Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.’”)
