- Akpabio has warned Oshiomhole against unruly conduct during a heated Senate debate over new leadership rules.
- The clash has sparked mixed reactions online as political tensions rise ahead of 2027.

Tension flared in the Senate chamber as Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, issued a stern warning to Senator Adams Oshiomhole during a heated exchange over newly introduced leadership rules.
The confrontation occurred as Oshiomhole reportedly protested changes to Senate rules that could affect eligibility for future leadership positions, including the Senate presidency ahead of 2027.
Addressing the Edo North lawmaker directly, Akpabio cautioned against further disruption in the chamber.
“Senator Oshiomhole, for the last time, if you become unruly in the Senate, we will use the same rules to remove you from the Senate,” he said.
The revised rules are said to have implications for several political figures, including Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, and others who may have future leadership ambitions within the National Assembly.
