Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has urged the government to allow Nigerians defend themselves as insecurity continues to spread across the country.

The actress made the appeal in a post shared on her social media page on Tuesday, where she voiced concern over the rising cases of attacks, killings, and fear among citizens.

Expressing her frustration, Kadiri wrote, “Give us power to defend ourselves.”

She lamented that many Nigerians now feel unsafe and vulnerable as insecurity threatens both lives and property in several parts of the nation.

According to the filmmaker, citizens deserve better protection and more effective measures from those in authority, stressing that security is a fundamental right and not a privilege.

Her statement quickly stirred reactions online, with several Nigerians agreeing with her concerns and calling on the government and security agencies to take urgent steps to address the worsening situation.
