Video of Samuel Okwaraji’s grave site who died while playing for Nigeria against Angola in 1989, surfaces online

Online, a video showing the burial location of the well-known Nigerian football player Samuel Okwaraji has surfaced. Okwaraji died in 1989 while representing his country versus Angola.

Nigerian lady Nnenna Okoronkwo, who posted the heartfelt video online, paid respect to the late Nigerian footballer.

In a moving video, Nnenna takes viewers to the late footballer’s grave and reflects on his remarkable career and services to Nigerian football.

According to accounts, Sam Okwaraji had a good career in Europe, playing for teams such as NK Dinamo Zagreb, VfB Stuttgart, and SSV Ulm 1846.

Aside from his athletic abilities, Okwaraji was also committed to his education, seeking a degree in law while playing football.

Nnenna Okoronkwo, in her emotional video tribute, expressed her admiration for the late footballer.

“I didn’t get to watch him but I grew up reading about him. This is one of the few men who died while in active service for their country. If he had lived longer, only God knows what he would have achieved for the nation. So this is it. The monument. Anytime I pass through the stadium I look at it and feel nostalgic. I’m remembering him today and praying to God that his soul continues to rest in peace,” Nnenna Okoronkwo said.
