According to Senator Binta Masi Garba, the decision made by the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to openness, accountability, and the rule of law.

Grassroots Campaign Council for Tinubu/Shettima in the 2023 presidential election was coordinated by Senator Masi Garba, who also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kassim Shettima on their success at the tribunal. Garba served as Adamawa State coordinator.

“First among equals, I want to congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kassim Shettima on their well-deserved win at the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC),” she said.

“As a supporter of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, I recognize that not everyone may concur with the verdict, but it is imperative that we respect the judiciary’s decisions because they form the backbone of our democracy.

In a media interview yesterday in Abuja, she stated that elections in a diverse country like Nigeria are frequently fiercely contested because different political parties, through their candidates, present different visions for the future of our nation.

No matter what side of the political aisle we are on, we must all accept the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal’s ruling. We show our unwavering dedication to upholding democracy’s guiding principles by accepting the judgment.

“The judgment has further improved our judicial system and increased our comprehension of not only the electoral act as amended but also our constitution as a whole.

She continued by saying that accepting the verdict creates a foundation for reconciliation and healing.

She clarified that there are winners and losers in every election.

“In times like these, we must unite as a country and work toward our common objectives. We must set aside our differences and concentrate on constructing a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria. “

Sen. Masi Garba said that accepting the judgment paves the way for future electoral processes to be conducted with greater transparency and fairness. He also mentioned that the judgment has established a precedent that no person or party is above the law.

We have the chance to show our dedication to the rule of law, foster reconciliation and unity, and clear the way for future election-related processes.

However, she urged Nigeria’s opposition parties to accept the tribunal’s decision as evidence of the resilience of the nation’s democracy and the prospect of a better future for Nigeria.
