The national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Festus Okoye, made the confirmation while speaking with New Telegraph.

Alleged billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, has alleged that the police hid him inside toilet when human rights lawyer Femi Falana came to see him at police station. Evans said this following his earlier claim that he was tortured by the Police to make what they term his confessional statement.

The Senate has hinted that it may set up an ad-hoc committee to probe the alleged mismanagement of N33bn by the Presidential Intervention Programme for the North-East, on resumption from its one-week recess. According to Sunday Punch, the Vice-Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, said that the upper legislative chamber would commence the probe as soon as the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee concluded its own investigation.

The self-acclaimed leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that Nigeria is doing her best to kill him. Kanu, who resurfaced in Jerusalem, Israel on October 19 after the military invasion of his community in Abia state, made this allegation during a live broadcast via radio Biafra on Saturday.

Over 70 temporary shops at Kasuwar Kurmi (‘Yan Gumama) Market in Kano State have been destroyed by fire. The Spokesman of the State Fire Service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed told News Agency of Nigeria in Kano State on Sunday that 70 of the shops were razed down completely.

Linda Ikeji’s blog, a Nigerian news blog, has apologised to John Abayomi, the online Editor of Punch Newspaper for mistakenly identifying him as the owner of Instablo9ja, a news page on Instagram. Gistlover News recalls that the blog had published a story November 15 with the title: “LIB exclusive: Meet the owner of Instablog9ja – John Abayomi”, but it turned out it was a mistaken identity as the picture of John Abayomi was used instead of John Abayomi Aruleba, who the blog claim is the actual owner of Instablog9ja.

- Super Falcons Lose Opening #AWCON18 Game to Banyana Banyana
African Champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, have lost their opening group game at the ongoing 11th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON18). The Super Falcons were stunned 1-0 by Bayana Bayana of South Africa in their opening group B game on Sunday, following a late volley in the 86th minute by substitute Thembi Kgatlana.
